It's obvious that I'm going through a rough time forgetting the one song you're hearing now in my profile, am I right? Unless I have changed the song in my blog when you've read this, it probably isn't
Always Be My Baby by
David Cook anymore.
I assume you're already getting the idea of what is LSS all about. If you're not new to this matter, then you might have already known it. You see, ever since I listened to my friend Ruzette's recommendation to hear Always Be My Baby, I found myself instantly hooked despite the fact
it is a song of Mariah Carey only revived by
American Idol Season 7 candidate
David Cook. I'm not really a fan of Mariah, I don't even like her because she called Filipinos "monkeys" back when she had concert here, but I like the tunes of her music. I even realized that I am humming to her song We Belong Together every now and then.
According to Urban Dictionary:
Last song syndrome
-n. To listen to music before going out of the house, and having the last song you hear before leaving stick in your head all through your journey, and beyond. Is usually accompanied by subconscious humming. This syndrome is particularly dangerous when the song happens to be the most pathetic, crappy, albeit catchy song ever.
Let me give you some examples just for a recap of what LSS really is:
- The teenage son of our neighbor is blasting the neighborhood with their speaker and loud volume to the tune of Crank That by Souljaboy.
- My friends and I dancing to the tune of Low by Flo-rida feat. T-Pain.
- One time in the kitchen I heard this song from my brother's PSP in Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories which title was Train by Conor and Jay.
- My brother singing to the tune of The One For Me by Cloud Nineteen.
- My sisters figuring out the lyrics to Bubbly by Colbie Caillat
- Setting your mp3 or iPod to repeat one with the song Realize again performed by Colbie Caillat.
To wrap it all up, LSS (Last Song Syndrome) is the behavior of one individual in which he manifests the repititive recalling attribute of a particular song, whether the song is good or bad. Pretty much, it's just a constant craving for your eardrums. :]
